A Blessing New Year Eve Dinner :)

My Sister in law is a good cook especially her Japanese style cooking is SUPERB! Every time she wana cook jap food, my hands are clapping and my face is smiling cos I get to hands on too ;p Her food that she created is always so colourful which make my mosaic pictures so so vibrant ;) Thanks to my hubby Joe's nice foto too! Well, we were standing the whole day preparing and cooking, while the kids were playing, oh yea Mum in law was helping up too ;) There were compliments from everyone when they put the food in their mouth ;p It was a wonderful and blessing dinner :) Thanks Patrina :D The blessing dinner boost us for the brand new year 2008! Cheers to our brand new year!!!

Chee Koon & Jiayi insisted to treat us a good dinner @ Japanese Resturant that serve their famous tofu cheese cakes :) They said we must go there and would give me more inspiration on cooking ;) Nice ambience, good dinner, good service and good company... this dinner is fantastic! I remembered I once received a sms "Only Titanic Ship Sink, but our Friendship will never sink" A meaningful phrase huh ;) When Betsy finally gathered all of us for a studio shoot, I realised... Time has proved our strong friendship throughout so many years, we have grown so much together through thick and thin, fat or shinny, pretty or ugly, good or bad and up or down! I wish all stay pretty, healthy and live beautifully!!! Three Cheers for our 20 years! And our friendship is sailing all the way... Truly, I really missed those days we were together!

A Warm Christmas with My Family

On the Christmas Day, 9yo Jeanne was a great help in my kitchen :) Learning survival skill isn't too young or too late, I can tell this young lady loves cooking :) Who knows she will cook a spread of delicious food for all of us one day! To add more varieties on the dining table, Mum bought popiah and Patrina brought home-cook honey baked pork ribs ;p


A heart-warming Christmas was indeed a family gathering filled with Loves and shower with Christmas presents! I wish my Mum and brothers were here...

My Gingerbread Lesson with the Little Ones

Beside baking gingerbreads for my friends, I also conduct a small gingerbread lesson at our place with these little friends :) Janice our deary little niece was coming too, she was enjoying herself and made new friends at the Gingerbread lesson. The lesson involved moulding and cutting the shape of the gingerbread dough which evolve a lot of hands on work that allow kids to train their motor skill :) After baking the shaped gingerbreads, the shapes had formed and create different result, it allowed kids to discover different stage of work. Next, boost up their creativity on icing the freshly baked gingerbread using colourful candies and royal icing :) Most importantly, the parents and children bond together for doing and learning things together :) It was indeed a fantastic experience for them :)

Let's Go To T3!

Again, Betsy told Little Megan, "Aunty Esther & Uncle Joeel are going to T3 with Megan this Sunday k" :s Here we are, cannot break her promise and go there with the Boonz! Haha! From there, the Gay's Family came along and joined us! Heard from Betsy about Amelia's fall and knocked off one of her front tooth :s She wasn't very natural when she met us, but eventually, she forgets all about the it! This outing was fun especially for the kids! T3 is a place for the kids to run around!!! It's spacious and the place look illustrative esp we took foto of the place! There, we rest and relax at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Cafe to enjoy our cuppocino! Sometimes, it's good to meet friends for chit chatting once a while :)

Birthday Lunch for Chee Koon

I missed my Mummy's original homecooked curry chicken and fried bee hoon with sambal chilli, I can tell my brothers also missed her cooking too... I woke up early in the morning to buy fresh chicken and vegetables @ Chong Pang Market. I'm going to cook Curry Chicken and Fried Somen specially for my brother Koon :) Knowing he doesn't like cakes, so I innovated this lunch just for him: Curry Chicken with quail eggs cos for Chinese there's always egg in soup noodles :) Fried Japanese Somen with prawns, cabbage and carrots, we know noodles represent longevity :) Of Course Mummy's original homecook curry chicken and fried bee hoon with sambal chilli taste much much better than my cooking! Aiya, Hoong and his gf cannot come today, else it'll be a wonderful reunion for us... Hope they can join us next time!

This song keeps singing in my mind! Betsy & Megan loves singing this song along the journey to the ZOO!!! Haha!

Previously, Betsy kept bugging me when are we going to the Zoo, zoO, ZOO! with her Little Megan! She already went there quite a few times and here we decided to go on Deepavali finally!!! As Betsy told me she already told Megan she's going to the Zoo with Aunty Esther & Uncle Joeel k ;) So cannot break her promise, opps... and here we are! :D

Megan was very excited and so happy to see us ;) We'd a great time with the Boonz and Betsy even took an effort to make sandwiches and turkey wraps for us :) So touch! She's rite, food and drinks selling @ the Zoo isn't cheap! How thoughtful of her ;) We took lots of pictures @ the Zoo but selected some nice ones here cos too many to do :s I wana buy something for Megan @ the Zoo shop, Betsy told me Megan doesn't like soft toys, so we took foto with the soft toy instead! She's so funny, she even pulled out one of the cartoon umbrellas and opened it and asked me to snap a picture of her! HAha... but she never ask for anything @ the shop from us & her parents ;) She's such a nice girl!

Chee Koon & Jiayi ROM @ Rasa Sentosa

It was a Beautiful Day at Rasa Sentosa, everybody witnessed Chee Koon and Jiayi's R.O.M Solemnization. They vowed their Love under the blue sky, around the deep sea, swaying coconut trees and anxious guests with all our blessings!


At the hotel room, the bed was decorated in Chinese traditional style with red dates scatted around and formed the Chinese character "XI" (means JOY) and a set of Chinese teapot & cups. In the bathroom, there's a bath tub with lots of red rose buds floating on the water...WOw...then followby the waiter served Jiayi's favourite Tiramisu cake is really a love package for the couple!!! When u see the balcony outside the hotel room... the view is FOC man!!! SO ENVY!!!

Marathon Dinner with the TEO!

CY called me last minute whether we wana join em for dinner cos they rented a toyota car - It turned out to be a marathon dinner cum supper in the end! Initially I told em I was craving for satay, then SL's rojak added in and finally Joeel's black pepper crab and so on all come into the list! First, Teo fetch us from the United Sq then to the Upp Thomson Rd Long House for our hungry stomach as the beginning of our dinner journey! We had soup prawn noodles, thai toufu, thai chicken feet, hokkien mee with ice lemon tea which we only treat them as appetizer!

Then we were checking if Calvin n Min could join us cos Teo's car can squeeze 2 more ppl. We knew it was last minute thingy cos Cal n Min alr hve dinner appointment, in the end our conservation turned out to be wrong idea for Calvin cos he tot we're celebrating something! Well, thanks to him to broadcast the wrong news wif his guess to everyone that I'm pregnant which I'm not @ all :s All the Congrats SMS came to me in no time!!! :s I met a "broadcast rival", now I know it's Calvin Tey! "Yi Shan Be Yi Shan Gao!" Wait a minute, Min is from media line, wah liao, perfect match lah!

Back to our marathon dinner, Teo's recommended Satay & Rojak is a Die Die Must Try dishes from AMK ave 5 hawker centre! Although the presentation wasn't very fantastic ,no nice plates plus the area was wet floor and dirty old dusty fans "WHO CARES!" The food is sooooooooooo yummy!!!

Actually, we were quite full already but we still have Black Pepper Crab in our mind!!! Then Teo brought us to AMK Ave 4 famous Chilli Crab coffee shop for a super crab meal! We had black pepper crab, chilli crab with buns and claypot crab vermicelli!!! In the middle of the meal, SL complaint he's full alr... Then we challenged him, see who can eat more crabs! Then we were all draw and even! hahaha! All we ordered there, we voted the Black Pepper Crab as the best dish, the spiciness electric our mind n it's tasty! Service: not very pleasant, sour face and serve us unwillingly (???) Anyway, WHO CARES!!! as long as the food is nice :) Gosh, with this meal our cholesterol level goes up!!! Haha

Our final stop was @ Sembawang Hawker, ordered our fruit juice and talking all the way... What a Marathon Dinner for all of us!!!

It was indeed an eventful Saturday for me and Joeel... After our Sentosa Picnic with our friends, our next station is Janice 4yo's birthday celebration!!! Our creative niece dressed up like a Fairy welcome all of us and she even dance for us with High School Musical Music!!! "What Time is it?" "It's Summer Time!!!"" It's Celebration!!!!" Yoyoyo!!! Haha... we oso go crazy lah!

Wow...It was an eventful Sentosa Picnic for all of us, we have yummy food and drinks, our very first try Skyride and Luke, having little fun with the kids, building sandcastles with Phoebe and celebrating Phoena's 2nd Birthday :) Thanks to all friends for such a wonderful day with all of u :) Cheers!!!!

Aunties in Thirties

It was a belated brithday dinner gathering specially for Xuehui ;) This time Jooli couldn't join us, a very busy Mum juggaling with her children and housechores :s Hope she can handle well with an extra helper :) However, we'd a great dinner @ Sake Sushi @ Wheelock Place. We even made hilarious comments on one another, Betsy said I'm an Auntie who's tasteless in dress sense and wanabe a hip hop babe, and even said I'm like fairy godmother, gosh who's Cinderalla :s While I think she's one Auntie who is immuture and dress like a "Taitai" wanabe ;p Lucky for Weiling simple tanktop and jeans saved her day, and Xuehui who dress well laughed all the way... Women in Thrities in a funny way, we choose our way we wanabe... wahahahahahahaha.... Well ladies, Laughing is a best medicine ;) Betsy, no offence k ;p haha

My Tuesday

This is how I spent my Tuesday today, eating breakfast all alone. Again, Mum was too tired to meet me for breakfast, Joe was in NS camp... what I do:- Doing all the housechores and laundry, make appointment to do my hair, some short time shopping and dinner with my girlfriends :)



Hey, Jooli brought bebe Rueben along too ;) To bad, Xuehui couldn't come and joined us... But, we had a great dinner together ;) Thanks Weiling for the dinner treats :D Xuehui, you still own us a dinner haha...

Our PaPa's 60th Birthday

It was a crazy Saturday for me, my art classes was a mad house as all kinds of situation happened in the art studio. Basically we were rushing for the lantern making, 2 classes had finished their lantern making last Sat as the other 2 faced problems. It doesn't mean every lesson we planned goes smoothly... I'm glad it was over...

A 5yo student exclaimed: "Teacher Esther, today is 21st September..." On my whiteboard I wrote 22nd Sep... I laughed and even showed him the big size calendar on the wall... "it's 22nd Sep, Kai Yao ;)" He insisted it was 21st cos his house's calendar proved it was 21st Sep he told me... then I asked Zhili's Mum while she was unpacking her son's art materials, she confirmed it's 22nd Sep in front of him... next minute, Kai Yao said: " Teacher Esther, you're very stubborn!" Oh my, I was like this :s

But in my mind, I know I'm going to meet our Papa for dinner to celebrate his 60th Birthday :) After my classes, I tried my luck to take a cab to meet everyone 7pm at Hougang Mall. No cabby, no single signs of my buses going to Hougang, I'm going to be late! Luckily, Jiayi told me to take my time cos Papa wanted to meet @ 7.30pm instead. I felt that everything was arranged by God. I reached Hougang Mall at 7.30pm sharp, Joeel was waiting for us at the Soup Restaurant, then I called and brought Papa to the Restaurant. Surprised, Papa told me it's his first time to the Hougang Mall!!!! Hoong came along then Koon & Jiayi came just in time for the dinner :)
Today is his actual date birthday. It has been a long time and years that we never sit and dine together especially with our Papa... We'd a hearty dinner with him and we're glad that he enjoys our company too :) Papa, we still love you :)

Yummy Steamboat @ Home!

It's always so convenient to prepare a steamboat for twosome like me and Joeel. Simple ingredients like mushrooms, bean sprouts, cabbages, carrots, fishcakes, lean pork meat, shrimps and an egg solve our dinner's problem especially when I'm so lazy to cook on Sundays...(Partly Joe also bugging me to cook steamboat lah :s) You can add your favourite vegatable, meat and seafood with any soup base of your choice that suit your taste... Don't forget to go with fragrant white rice and your favourite sauce ;) It's very easy and very healthy too :) Oh yea, thanks to my brothers' birthday present, it's very useful :)

Welcome to my little garden

As usual, Joeel meets me every Saturday for dinner right after my marathon art classes. This time, We went to Far East Nursery for some flora shopping. It was indeed a great shopping therapy for me especially I specially picked the flowers that I like and a matching mosaic flower pot. My Sunday was occupied, freelance job in the morning plus Rueben's first month celebration in the afternoon...I kept telling myself, gosh, when am i going to repot my flowers!!! Monday is a no no for me as I have art classes..Finally Tuesday, today - I'm free!!!! Look at my lovely creation! I'm sure you will love it too :)

SUPPER SUNDAY!

What a Super Sunday for me and Joe, we had breakfast together with Mum, Bro Koon and Jiayi @ Chong Pang wet market. As Mum had work to do, we carried on our Sunday @ our home.

My brothers & Jiayi gave this jap sukiyaki set for me as a birthday present :) Hee, another birthday present for me ya ;) Thank You!!!

My Sis in law came along and tried out new receipe @ our kitchen while Janice was doing her painting @ our working studio :) I introduced her with 3 colours paints to make blotto, with her little hands, she created a shape of a butterfly :) Then she added flowers around the butterfly. "What a beautiful picture!!!!" her Grandma exclaimed.

What a Super Sunday for all of us!!! :D

My Sweet 32

Today is my Birthday, I'm a big girl now and I missed my Mum celebrating for me every year when I was young and still very depending on my parents.

I remembered how Mummy cooked noodles with egg on my birthday in her cooking style. She would cook it dry or soup, seafood or just simple fastcook noodles with an egg if she was rushing for work. And I just love whatever way she cooked for me! ;p

Here I am and I'm always blessed with the love ones around me, shower with birthday gifts and love!

I'm so so lucky to celebrate my birthday with my love ones happily together again!

Life is Beautiful

Sometimes we do things without realizing it's right or wrong... Time just passed by and I realised we have to slow down and take a look at each others' eyes and fall in love again... Still, cooking for joeel is my passion, looking at my plants is my leisure :)
