It was a last minute shopping for our friends' Christmas presents that we thought we would have time to do ScrapArt for all of them but we were wrong... we were too busy and hardly touched them :s What would we do??? We decided to make the Kwek Family ScrapArt first because they are the Host for this Christmas at their new home :)
The Making: We finally got to do the ScrapArt on the day before the xmas eve nite :s It was pretty rush and we just took whatever Christmas theme scrap materials we bought, and decided to use the traditional Red colour for the theme. Gosh, too many materials to mix and match cos Joe want this and I want that... Christmas tree, presents, socks are all chosen in the creation and works pretty well with the paper designs and texts! The design looks simply Christmas to us ;p Not bad at all! Except we had a sleepless night :s

The Happy Teys Shine!
Another ScrapArt for our friends! This time, The Tey's Family! Knowing they're both busy parents who only have QUALITY times with their Little Gabby that inspired us to build this just for THEM!
The Making: We took quite a few trips to mix and match the materials at the Paper Market. Quite disappointed with the shop that they don't carry the things that we want like Bird Cage, Gothic Sun... something which link to the theme/style that I want... Hmm... nevertheless, we managed to style the feel of Calvin's fav black and Min's fav red! Luckily, everything goes smoothly working on this scrap-making ;) Except! The sticker fonts dropped cos they're not sticky enough! I have to use UHU glue to glue them back, but it was too "webby"... change to wood glue instead though took a long time to dry but it was strong enough to make them stay in place! A slow and steady process, though ;)
I hope the Teys will love it! (Think it's nice to display in your dining area! So you have more appetite during meal time when you look at this happy scarp foto!) Cheers!

Homecook Curry Fish Head
See what I'd prepared for my bro CK and Sis-in-law JY, of course Joeel and I also get to eat it too ;p To prepare homecook curry fish head is very easy! FRESH Fish Head is very important!
Everything FRESH from the Chong Pang wet market and cooking method:
1) 1 Medium Size Fish Head (Ang Gou Li) wash and clean
2) 1 packet fresh fish curry paste (S$1.50) stir fried with veg oil and wedges big onion in hot wok
3) 300g fresh grated coconut (3 bowls of water to mix and squeeze out the milk with the filter bag) bring to boil in medium heat in a claypot
4) Add the curry paste with onions in the boiling coconut milk, add the vegetables and tou pok follow by the fish head
5) Close the lid and cook in med heat for 15min, add sugar and salt to taste
6) Serve Hot :p
Easy rite!

The Fongers Smile
I always get FANCY on all the pretty papers and decorative stickers, fonts, borders....etc... and I would spend a whole day at the scrapbook shops mix and match the paper materials ;p Yesterday was one instance that I went to the Paper Market which was newly open also from "sister" shop of another scrapbook shop at the Wheelock's place. After browsing around, I headed to another shop called Made with Love @ Plaza Sing where I spent about $70plus there :o Turning back to Paper Market again, I even bought the limited addition items which I couldn't find at the PS ;p My nice hubby Joeel who accompanied me for the whole day which he did his own shopping as well but got nothing he wanted in the end...
After purchasing the papers that I fancied...what should I do about them? Hmm... make a photo scrape for the Fongers! Why? Because they're gg to Australia and stay there for a few years! Why not make a gift for them! This morning, I mixed and match the materials that I'm gg to use... eventually Joeel joined the fun! He becomes my great helper and fantastic "3rd eyes"! He even helped me print out the foto that I chose from Edna's album that she shared with us! There, we trimmed, torn, glued, decorated and framed em! Bingo! Nice rite! Not bad for the first timers!
*REDO - We were almost finished with the last butterfly that my "3rd eyes" told me that I should add another one... the butterfly "flew" onto Tyler's face and got stuck!!!!!!!! I was freaky panic and peeled it out with care BUT there was a mark on his face!!!!!!! So mad!!! (Pulling my hair out) and even blamed Joeel! ;p Have to redo everything once again, we reprint the foto, re-paste and re-decorated everything all over again! :s

Yummy Breakfast
I learned this Italian style recipe from David Roco, and it has become our breakfast almost every time we want to have it! Because, we became to enjoy having it, it was a cheezy experience! You must try! It's very easy to make: Just use any toast bread (I used wholemeal bread) sliced the mozorella cheese and sandwich in between the breads, trimmed the bread skin and cut into triangle, dipped the triangle bread into the beaten eggs and some milk (I used 2 eggs for 4 sliced breads), fry em onto the hot pan with olive oil until golden brown on both sides :) Serve HOT! Yummy!

Encouragement Bento 19.08.09
Joeel's back pain attacked him :( He couldn't get up from his morning bed, his hands and feet were shivering cold that he was so afraid to hurt his back spine :( I was so helpless, I wanted to call an ambulance, but Joeel stopped me. I cancelled my classes for his unbearable back pain, cook lunch and dinner. Thought bento can make him feel better after sometimes that he managed to get up from his bed. After lunch, his pain was still unbearable, after some thoughts, I decided to call an ambulance to help us! After a long wait at the TTS Hospital, the doctor gave him a pain killer injection and more pain killer pills and sleeping pills for him :s All I know is Joeel needs a lot of rest...

We set off early in the morning...We were cycling from our place Woodlands through Yishun then Yio Chu Kang Rd heading to Hougang ;) Had lunch with my Dad and Brother then visit the Boonz! ;D Wow! What a day for me and Joeel ;p

Though my actual birthday fall on Saturday but I still have to work... Gosh, the no break marathon classes sometimes gave me headaches partly because some of my naughty students gave me unnecessary problems, but I have no idea I still bearable with them ;p Maybe I was in the good mood because I'd RSVP with my Joeel ;p Haha! Joeel gave me a simple Japanese treat at the Sushi Tei @ Thomson Plaza! FYI, it's always a long Q esp on Sat, they don't allow reservation, they only allow reservation when you're in the Q ;) Anyhow, just 15min and we're in the restaurant enjoying our sushi @ the bar top :p Thanks Dear for yummy birthday dinner! ;p

Keep The Dream Alive Prize Presentation 11th July 2009

It was a very meaningful day to me, though, I did not summit my entry and won any awards for this art competition but the results from my students had won me many many awards! Joeel and Janice won Merit Awards for their categories for the YOLO Keep The Dream Alive Art Competition, too. It was an art competition that allow Artists to express their dreams onto the templates that part of the donation is going to the BT Budding Artists Fund. It was an event that all the families gathered together to celebrate the good hearts and most of all - Art.

Let's Go Green!
We're going GREEN with Jooli and celebrate her advance birthday at the Green Room Cafe! Yes, they served vegetarian food. It was nice cosy place with nature around us and the noisy ones were Megan and Rachel who were enjoying the place and company ;p Megan was dressing like a Little Cherry Princess while Rachel was still very shy Little Princess ;D Oh, thanks to Xuehui's brilliant idea for making our gathering more refreshing by changing venue that's away from the Town area :D Too bad, Christina couldn't join us for overseas work. I'm thinking where shall we dine for the next gathering :D Also, not forgetting to thank Jooli for nice little gifts from her NZ trip ;p
Waffles Making with my nieces :)
Another dough making session with my nieces and this time we made Belgian Waffles! Surprisingly, Janice can stand right in front of the waffles maker patiently waiting for the dough to get cooked! After a few dough cooking... her attention fall on somewhere else! Haha! Then it was Jeanne's turn to continue the waffles cooking ;p Not only that, Chef Patrina even prepared sumptous Japanese dinner for all of us and we'd waffles with fruits and ice cream! What a school holiday for my nieces! For me, I was dead tired as my Sunday break had spent on our nieces but think again we had great fun together! :D

Singapore Art Festival - The World Famous CRACKERS? UK 2009
CRACKERS? from THE WORLD FAMOUS is a pyrotechnics show that puts the audiences right in the centre of the action. It was happening at Yishun near the North Point Shopping Centre! The most spectacular fireworks sparkling right in front of us in 360 degrees view! The feeling was fantastic and it really boosted us with beautiful energy for the start of the week! AWESOME!

Freshly Bread Making on Advance Father's Day!
Another june school holiday is here, and I finally find times with my nieces and this time we make and bake creative breads! We were so lucky that the dough rised double its size which allowed us to create many breads! Mother and daughter's time together - Mama Patrina and Janice had a good time moulding the dough together! Though Jeanne was late but she managed to make some mould last minute before I popped all the dough in the hot oven ;) While all the bread were baking in the hot oven, Janice was enjoying her music and making some craft.
Wow, we have caterpillars, butterflies, snails, bears, mice, pigs and many cutie breads! They taste so fresh and yummy! Everybody loves them!
Not forgetting to celebrate Father's Day for Gong Gong ;) Patrina was cooking fish'n'chips in the kitchen while I'm preparing japanese coleslaw at the dining table and my nieces were giving me helping hands too :) We'd a simple and wonderful meal together after the bakery session :D Well, shall we have another bakery session ;p Cheers!

Les Miserables
When Susan Boyle appeared in Yahoo! News , she surprised the audiences especially the difficult judges from the Britains Got Talent 2009... she has indeed inspired all of us from all over the world! Joeel and I teared when she performed and sang with her heart. From this video, it flashed back the the time that I went to attend this musical Les Miserables with my cousins (Ah Li, Say, Mei and Ping) when we were teenagers way back in 1998! Not to mention, we even bought the 1st row seats to see this show! It was worth seeing and the LIVE musical touched our hearts! I missed the Les Miserables white T-shirt with its signature print on it, one of my favourite t-shirt... The tune keeps singing in my mind... esp the girl who sang "Castle on a Cloud"...
I remembered I was lost and lonely in my twenties, I believed HE was above for me... when I looked around, I realized I'm already surrounded with LOVES - my family esp my mum, brothers and friends! ;p Until, I met Joeel ;p
I cried when she sang this song...The lyrics are so meaningful that I hope the dream we dreamed is not killing by the life we have... We always dream our dream would come true one day... One thing, I'm really glad that Life has been nice to us :)
I realized my students and the children nowadays are so much luckier than her... All the comforts and loves are only appearing in her dream... This song keeps singing in my mind again...

Megan 4yo Party on Earth Day
Today is Earth Day. All the lights on Earth are switched off for an hour, EXCEPT the Rivervale Function Room's lights are still on!!! Why? Because it is Megan's happiest day ;) It's her birthday that brings all the children together to celebrate with her! Happy Birthday Megan! I always like the Studio Ghibli cartoons namely My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Caslte, Castle in the Sky, Cat's Return, in fact most of their films ;) Joe Hisaishi is one famous composer and pianist for the music production. Most of the music from the cartoons inspired us alot personally. You will start to love em eventually... esp if you have watched the films :) By listening to the music you will remember the visual from the film ;p

My Big Fat Greek Lunch 10.03.09
It's easy and fun to make! 4 simple steps to make our lunch ready!
(Serve 2)
1) First, prepare the Greek style yogurt, add a tablespoon olive oil with pressed garlic (2 cloves) and halve shredded cucumbers, add low fat yogurt (200g) into the mixture, stir well and chill in the fridge.
2) One big potato for each person. Shred the potatoes and cook on the non-stick pan with some olive oil and make a round shape. Cook till golden brown and flip on the other side and cook using low heat.
3) Cook the Turkey Snail Sausages till nice and brown with some olive oil. They are easily available at any supermarket.
4) Serve Hot with the Greek style garlic and cucumber yogurt and topping some diced cucumbers (the other half) and 8 cherry tomatoes! Yum!
